Dear Parents,
Let us not forget where Thanksgiving came from – an annual tradition to celebrate and appreciate God’s blessings.
To be specific, Thanksgiving was celebrated to appreciate God’s help to the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony in surviving their harsh winter in New England. This consisted of a three-day long feast filled with fish, shellfish, fowl, vegetables, and what they called the Three Sisters – beans, corn and squash.
Tell your child a story on this wonderful day and let’s all send our prayers to God for thanking him for this wonderful blessing he brings us every year – to celebrate with our families.
Have a great thanksgiving!
